🌱 Tree Plantation Program – World Environment Day 2025

In celebration of World Environment Day 2025, the Department of Public Health Dentistry at S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Sciences & Research took a meaningful step toward environmental sustainability by organizing a Tree Plantation Program on 10th June 2025.
The event saw the enthusiastic participation of faculty members, students, and administrative staff, reflecting the institute’s strong commitment to ecological responsibility and community engagement. A total of 50 saplings were planted in and around the college premises, including roadside areas and community zones near the campus.
The program was coordinated by Dr. Naveen Karbari, In-charge Head of the Department of Public Health Dentistry, along with the dedicated faculty and staff of the department. The event was graced by the presence of the Principal, Vice-Principal, and senior faculty members who actively took part in the plantation drive.
The initiative aimed to:

Promote environmental awareness and responsibility among dental students.

Enhance the green cover in and around the institution.

Reinforce the importance of trees in combating climate change and improving air quality.
Participants were encouraged to adopt the saplings they planted and nurture them as a long-term commitment to nature. The event concluded with a collective pledge to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.
This green initiative is part of the institute’s broader mission to integrate health education with community and environmental well-being.
