🧘‍♂️ Yoga and Wellness Program
Organized by the Department of Public Health Dentistry
S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Kalaburagi

As part of its ongoing commitment to holistic health, S. Nijalingappa Institute of Dental Sciences & Research organized a Yoga and Wellness Program to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being among students and staff.

This initiative aimed to create awareness about the benefits of yoga in managing stress, improving focus, enhancing immunity, and fostering a healthy lifestyle—especially important for healthcare professionals and students who often face demanding academic and clinical schedules.

Highlights of the Program:

  • Guided Yoga Session led by a certified yoga instructor, covering breathing exercises (pranayama), basic asanas, and relaxation techniques.

  • Wellness Talk by health experts focusing on nutrition, mindfulness, stress management, and work-life balance.

  • Interactive Participation from faculty members, non-teaching staff, interns, and undergraduate students.

  • Q&A Session where participants shared their wellness concerns and received expert advice.

The session began with a brief introduction to the significance of yoga and was followed by a group practice session conducted in a calm, open environment. Participants were encouraged to integrate yoga into their daily routines to improve their quality of life and mental clarity.

The program was coordinated by the Department of Public Health Dentistry under the leadership of Dr. Naveen Karbari, Incharge HOD, with active support from the college administration.

This wellness initiative reflects the institute’s broader vision of nurturing not only skilled professionals but also individuals with a strong foundation in physical and mental well-being.
