The Department of Oral Medicine and Radiology is a cornerstone specialty in dentistry that bridges the gap between medicine and dentistry. Students are rigorously trained to diagnose dental caries and its complications, oral mucosal diseases (with both local and systemic origins), bone and joint disorders, and systemic illnesses that present with oral manifestations. The department plays a key role in cultivating the ability to manage orofacial pain, mucosal lesions, temporomandibular disorders (TMDs), and salivary gland pathologies.

A vital component of the curriculum is Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Students are taught the principles of radiation physics, biological effects, safe usage, and protective protocols. They are also introduced to advanced diagnostic imaging techniques, including:
