ABOUT COURSE

Dental Science or Dental Surgery is a branch of the medical sciences which deals with dental and oral health. This course imparts the knowledge and the skills to solve these dental and oral health problems which are faced by most of the human population.

Candidates, who have completed their Master’s degree in orthodontics are permitted as members of Indian Orthodontic Society since these colleges are approved by the Dental Council of India. Taking the membership from AFO and Orthodontic Society will be of great use to the MDS orthodontics candidates for their future prospects.

This course aims to train the general dental practitioners and specialists with very less orthodontic experience, which will provide an opportunity for clinical mastery, Breakthrough training, and peak personal achievement.

Orthodontics is a stream of dentistry, which is concerned with correcting the irregularities present in teeth and jaws, which can be by birth or because of some accident. A person who wants to pursue an advanced course in Orthodontics can enroll into a postgraduate course in Orthodontics.

MDS Orthodontics is a three-year postgraduate degree course during which a prospect learns many aspects and techniques of Orthodontics, such as molding and setting of teeth braces, invis-aligning of teeth, using retainers to remove dental deformity etc.   Many institutes and universities in India offer MDS (Orthodontics).

REQUIREMENTS

For MDS,

Must have a recognized degree of BDS awarded by an Indian University in respect of recognized Dental College.
