On the occasion of Doctor’s Day, the Department of Public Health Dentistry organized an interdisciplinary academic meet on 1st July 2026 titled “Neurology Meets Dentistry: Orofacial Pain.” The guest lecture was delivered by Dr. Shweta A. Patil, who highlighted the neurological basis of orofacial pain, its clinical presentation, diagnosis, and multidisciplinary management. The session emphasized the importance of collaboration between neurology and dentistry in ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective patient care. Faculty members, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students actively participated in the program and engaged in an interactive discussion with the speaker. The lecture enriched the participants’ knowledge of orofacial pain disorders and reinforced the significance of interdisciplinary learning in improving clinical practice and promoting comprehensive patient-centered healthcare.
